Investing In Dedicated Equipment: Boton Adds Two New Skiving & Roller Burnishing Machines For Lift Fork Cylinder Production

Jul 21, 2026
Sometimes, supporting a customer doesn't begin with a new order-it begins with a new investment.

Recently, Boton Industrial Supply Co., Ltd. completed the installation of two dedicated skiving & roller burnishing machines specially configured for the production of lift fork hydraulic cylinder tubes. The new equipment has been customized to process 66 mm OD × 56 mm ID steel tubes, meeting the dimensional and surface finish requirements of one of our long-term customers.

This wasn't part of our original production expansion plan.

The decision came after several rounds of technical discussions with the customer as their demand for lift fork cylinders continued to grow. Rather than adapting existing equipment, both teams agreed that a dedicated production solution would provide better consistency, higher efficiency and more stable quality over the long term.

For hydraulic cylinders used in forklift applications, the inside diameter of the tube plays a critical role in sealing performance and service life. During our project review, we found that using a dedicated skiving & roller burnishing machine would allow us to maintain tighter dimensional control and a more consistent internal surface finish throughout production. Although the investment was significant, it was the right decision for the project.

The two new machines are designed exclusively for this product range and are not shared with other production lines. By assigning dedicated equipment to a single specification, we can reduce setup time, improve process stability and ensure greater consistency from batch to batch-an important advantage for customers who require long-term, repeat production.

During equipment commissioning, our engineering team worked closely with the machine manufacturer to optimize processing parameters for the 66/56 mm hydraulic cylinder tube. Several trial runs were completed before full production began, allowing us to fine-tune machining performance and verify that the finished tubes met the customer's requirements for dimensional accuracy, internal surface quality and overall process stability.

For us, this investment represents more than the addition of two new machines.

It reflects the way we approach customer partnerships.

Instead of asking customers to adapt their products to our existing production capacity, we prefer to evaluate whether our manufacturing capabilities should evolve alongside their projects. In some cases, that means optimizing a production process. In others, like this one, it means investing in dedicated equipment to support long-term cooperation.

As demand for forklift hydraulic cylinders continues to increase, these two dedicated skiving & roller burnishing machines will strengthen our production capacity for precision hydraulic cylinder tubes while providing our customer with a more reliable and efficient manufacturing solution.

At Boton Industrial Supply, we believe that long-term partnerships are built not only through product quality, but also through the willingness to invest, improve and grow together with our customers. This latest equipment upgrade is another step in that direction, and we look forward to supporting future projects with even greater manufacturing capability.
