Analysis of the causes of piston rod overheating

Jun 23, 2024

(1) The piston rod and stuffing box are skewed during assembly, causing local mutual friction, which should be adjusted in time;
(2) The clamping spring of the sealing ring is too tight, the friction is large, and it should be adjusted appropriately;
(3) The axial clearance of the sealing ring is too small, and the axial clearance should be adjusted according to the specified requirements;
(4) The oil supply is insufficient, and the oil supply should be appropriately increased;
(5) The piston rod and the sealing ring are not well run-in, and the running-in should be strengthened during the matching and grinding;
(6) Impurities are mixed in the air and oil, which should be cleaned and kept clean.
